Skin Resurfacing
Venus Viva™ skin resurfacing treatments work with tiny pins that safely deliver heat (via NanoFractional Radio Frequency) through the skin’s surface. This creates tiny micro-dermal wounds, which the body naturally heals on its own. This process repairs signs of skin damage visible on the surface of the skin. Since the wounds are so small, the treatment is much more comfortable than traditional CO2 lasers, while still producing incredibly visible results.

What is the Venus Viva treatment like?
The Viva treatment is a 15-45 minute treatment that is performed in the office. A topical anesthetic is applied for 30-60 minutes prior to the treatment to minimize discomfort. After the anesthetic is cleansed, the treatment with the Viva applicator is performed. During the treatment, you will feel tiny pins on the surface of the skin followed by a gentle zap and the skin will feel warm like an intense sunburn.

What will my skin look like after treatment?
Immediately after treatment, the skin will appear red for 1-4 days depending on the setting utilized. For the first 24 hours, the skin will appear red and it is recommended not to apply or rub anything onto your skin. After 24 hours, you will begin to notice superficial peeling and small crusted dots on the skin as your skin recovers. At this point, you may apply makeup and resume your regular skincare regimen. You should apply sunscreen (at least SPF 30), preferably one without chemicals. But avoid rigorous exercise and hot baths or massages on the treatment area for the first 2 days after your session. Make sure to keep your skin clean and protected from the sun. Avoid any sort of tanning.

How many treatments are recommended?
Three to four treatments are typically recommended to achieve maximum results. Because there is minimal downtime, the treatments can be spaced as monthly visits with a quick recovery time compared to more aggressive procedures that have a single longer recovery period.
What skin types can be treated with Venus Viva?
Because Venus Viva utilizes radiofrequency instead of light, all skin types may be safely treated. Regardless of skin type, sun protection is important before and after treatment to optimize results and increase safety.
